Maxine Guess Calhoun Self
(March 31, 1931 - January 24, 2012)

Funeral services for Mrs. Maxine Guess Calhoun Self of Vaiden will be at
10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, at Oliver Chapel in Winona, with burial
following in Vaiden Cemetery in Vaiden.  Rev. Leon Holly and Rev. Doug
Warren will officiate the services.

Visitation will be Friday, January 27, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral
Home.

Mrs. Self died in an automobile accident near Vaiden on Tuesday, January 24.
She was 80 years old.


Mrs. Self was the daughter of the late William Houston and Ura Ouida White
Guess.  She was a homemaker and a member of Vaiden Baptist Church in
Vaiden.  She was also a member of the Vaiden Home Demonstration Club
and the Vaiden Baptist Church Live Wires.  In addition to her parents, Mrs.
Self was preceded in death by her husbands, John C. Calhoun and Morris
Lee Self; and her son, John C. "Bubba" Calhoun III.

Survivors are her four daughters, Linda Bridges of Vaiden, Wanda Cooke of
Vaiden, Brenda Loftin of Vaiden, and Gwen Whitworth of Walls; eight
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
