Troy P. Mitchell
(January 5, 1920 - November 8, 2011)
Funeral services for Troy P. Mitchell of Kilmichael will be at 11:00 a.m. on
Saturday, November 12, at Oliver Chapel in Winona, with burial following in
the Friendship Cemetery in Kilmichael. Rev. Jerry McNeer will officiate the
services.
Visitation will be Friday, November 11, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver
Funeral Home.
Mt. Mitchell died of heart failure at Crystal Health and Rehab in Greenwood
on Tuesday, November 8. He was 91 years old.
Mr. Mitchell was the son of the late Joe and Mae Wells Mitchell and the
widower of the late Gladys Elizabeth Fulce Mitchell. He was a retired farmer
and carpenter and a member of Huntsville Church of Christ near Kilmichael.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two
grandsons, Jamie Hamby and Tim Luster.
Survivors include four daughters, Jane Parrish and husband, Fred, of
Greenwood, Faye L. Mitchell of Jackson, Linda Griffin and husband, Robert,
of Kilmichael, and Judy Luster and husband, Ranzy, of Hewitt, TX; two sons,
Troy Mitchell, Jr., and wife, Myra, of Winona, and Roger Mitchell and wife,
Delma, of Stewart; two sisters, Margie Boatman of Baton Rouge, LA, and
Joyce Jones of Cleveland; eleven grandchildren; seventeen
great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and
nephews.
